Focusing on positive things is more than invigorating, it is a self-given gift. And it doesn\u2019t have to be complicated. It is best to do it in the evenings, but no pressure, if you do it in the morning it\u2019s fine too.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 16px;\">Include it as your convenience and bring some regularity into it, like do it each Saturday morning meanwhile coffee time. Start recalling yesterday or the very day you have overcome. Then look back on the duties you have been accomplished, your encounters you have come across, the sudden inputs you have gathered, etc. Give yourself 5-10 minutes to sit with your upcoming memories and emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 16px;\">Instead of opening a journal and trying to fulfill a page with all the things you\u2019re grateful for, try focusing on one or two that really invokes the emotion of <span style=\"color: #1f6421;\"><strong>gratitude<\/strong><\/span>. Write down each on a post-it, the ones that stand out for you, and fold it in half then put it into your Gratitude Jar!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 16px;\">Taking gratitude notes can be uplifting in those smooth phases of our lives and also when it\u2019s used in difficult situations or downright irritating relationships. Ask yourself, despite all the bad, what can you learn from a difficult day or week? What qualities do you admire in yourself or someone else\u2013 even if you don\u2019t want to be around them right now? What are you grateful for? Write each onto a post-it. If you start including this exercise from June, you might end up with a full jar by December.
